Don't give up yet.

You're in the right place.

You started in youth ministry because you wanted to help teenagers move toward Jesus.

But now... well, it's tough.

Overwhelmed, tired, and frustrated are three words that I hear a lot from youth pastors.

They feel STUCK. Maybe you know the feeling.

One youth pastor told me that it feels like he's spinning his wheels week after week.
He's trying his best, but his ministry isn't getting any traction.

Sound familiar?

You're not alone!

That's why I started Better Youth Ministry.

Nice to meet you...

Trevor Hamaker picI'm Trevor Hamaker, and I help youth pastors see their potential, develop their skills, and reach their goals.

Let's break that down:

See your potential. Sometimes you're sitting too close to the action to see the bigger picture of possibilities. I can help you see your situation through different eyes and develop a fresh perspective about yourself and your ministry's potential.

Develop your skills. Youth pastors are asked to perform a lot of different roles. It's tough to admit it sometimes, but we can all improve in certain areas. I can help you identify and grow in key areas that will give you a greater sense of competence and confidence in your ministry.

Reach your goals. The first step toward reaching your goals is establishing what they are. The next step is making the best decisions and taking the proper actions to move in the right direction. I can help you set and accomplish your goals through the right mix of encouragement and accountability.

Why should you trust me?

I've walked in your shoes. When I started out in youth ministry, I stumbled my way through, learning from trial and error. I've made mistakes, but I've also experienced a lot of good times too. My experience ranges from small, traditional churches to large, contemporary churches. I also spent five years working for a multi-million dollar staffing company. No matter what your context is, I can identify.

But I'm not just a rah-rah cheerleader for you. I back up my coaching with real data and analysis from books and experiences. I'm a nerd like that. I love studying philosophy, theology, leadership, and management. That's why, after earning degrees in Business Management, Leadership, and Religious Education, I went on to get a Doctor of Ministry degree too. (It's safe to say my wife is happy I'm done with my education!)

Those experiences have given me a unique perspective that can help you do ministry better.
